The ice is melting

The ice is finally melting and should be completely gone within the week.  This makes it fun to watch the migrating ducks and soon the boats will be in the water and ready for the fishing season.  Check out our calendar on our website listed below to check for a date to visit.

Beef tenderloin

Our dinner of beef tenderloin filet stuffed with bacon, cheese, and mushrooms is one of our guest's favorite dinners.  Yes we are a bed and breakfast.  We have wonderful breakfasts that are included in each night's stay.  We also offer dinners for our guests at an extra charge so that after getting here from the hustle and bustle of life, they don't have to leave.  We serve one dinner option in the dining room chosen by the first couple who reserves the dinner or guests can have an in-room picnic basket consisting of home cooked meats to make hearty sandwiches.  Check out our dinner menu here:

Snickerdoodle Bread

This recipe is a favorite of our guests
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup sour cream
1 pkg Hershey's cinnamon chips
For topping:
3 T sugar
3 tsp cinnamon

Cream butter, sugar, salt, and cinnamon until fluffy.  Add eggs and mix well.  Add vanilla and sour cream and mix well.  Mix flour and baking powder in a separate bowl.  Add to wet ingredients and mix until all combined.  Add cinnamon chips and stir into batter.  Set aside.  Spoon batter into 4 mini loaf pans until about 2/3 full.  For topping, mix 3 T sugar and 3 tsp cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle over the batter in each loaf pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 35-38 minutes.  Let cool before removing from pan.

Last week we saw a Coopers Hawk sitting on our back porch railing.  He was waiting for lunch/dinner.  Here is a photo
